The Guitar Academy Worthing
Welcome message from Rose - Principal of The Guitar Academy & The Vocal Academy Sussex:

"Welcome and thanks for checking out The Guitar Academy (TGA) Worthing. I got involved with The Vocal Academy (TVA) when I was head hunted by Director, Lu Bristow. Lessons started in Worthing with just me teaching but due to popularity we took on more tutors and decided to move to different towns in Sussex. From that we started getting requests for guitar lessons and with that The Guitar Academy was born! Our guitar tutor Matt Church came on board with us as our main guitar tutor here and we are very pleased that he is part of our team!

With both TVA & TGA, I believe the lessons are so popular because we handpick our tutors. They are all professional, personable and very experienced and we are very lucky to have them on board. Our guitar lessons are all taught from purpose built, soundproofed studios. We offer links to RRS Agency for those who wish to progress in the industry. We also offer grades to those who would like a more formal route and for those who just love to play guitar for themselves, there is no pressure - we just want you to have fun! The Guitar Academy is a FANTASTIC place for anyone wanting to learn to play guitar, of any age.

I’ve worked a fair bit in the industry and what I love about TVA & TGA is that it puts people first. The care for our students is paramount and it’s a nice balance of technical work and playing the songs you love so that you enjoy your lessons.

Dave - Worthing Guitar Tutor:

"Hi, I'm David.......

I've been teaching guitar privately for 10 years and now work as a full-time musician.  I've been playing in bands since I was 14 years old, singing, playing guitar and writing songs.

I graduated from Brighton Institute of Modern Music in 2006 with a 2:1 Degree in Modern Musicianship.

I began learning the guitar at age 11, and always knew that I wanted to be a musician, but I was by no means a natural.

I had to work very hard to learn the guitar, and I also HATED Practicing!

When I started teaching, I vowed to make it as easy as possible to help my students practice.

Thats why the practice goals I set are always;

  • Achievable

  • Quick (10 mins or less!)

  • Most importantly, Fun!

I utilise youtube to create personalised videos for every student at the end of each lesson, so that they have a something to go back to and watch to remind them what to do.

Students are encouraged to find music they want to learn  and work on, but I also have lots of prepared set lessons that are geared towards getting beginners playing music as quickly as possible.

I love teaching because I love helping students achieve their goals, and because lessons  are always fun!"

During your guitar lessons you may cover:

• Preparing to play  • Confidence building • Warm-ups • Technical exercises • Equipment • Tone • Songwriting • Theory • Performance • Recording • Audition prep • Artist development and so much more!

Our lessons have been proving so popular of late that we have decided to move to our own studio in Worthing. We are based at Brighton Sound Proofing, 10 Thesiger Cl, Worthing, BN11 2RN. We are leasing this studio exclusively so you can be confident that you can really let loose without getting disturbed by the thought of any body else hearing you. We have a permanent set of equipment for you to use too. We would also welcome anything that you would like to bring a long and try out.
